The Brown Low-Down

Hello United Milkworkers!!! It is amazing how much is going on in our world when on the surface it might seem like absolutely nothing is happening.

I was thinking the other day about how long it has been since I have released any new music. In fact, last week marked 10 years since the release of "Lunar Modular Unit" from my weirdo-nerdy brown25 persona. Way back in 2000, Lunar Modular Unit made rotations at over 100 college and web radio stations and some nice review like this one from ACE Weekly in Lexington, KY. It also afforded me a sizeable grant from Jim Beam's BEAM (Benefiting Emerging Artists in Music) program and an invitation to play at NXNW. Nevertheless, to commemorate the anniversary, I am releasing a free download-only song called "Burning, Itching, Swelling". This song was written and even partially recorded around the 2002-2003 time frame. In the last couple weeks, I took the old skeleton and added vocals, moog, and enough new weird to make it textbook brown25. You can download it now at my myspace page HERE. Please drop me a line and let me know what you think!!!

Rebeca is hard at it with her various musicstuffs. In fact, you can see Rebeca live with Gina Morresi on Monday April 26 at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ at 8, opening for Backyard Tire Fire. You absolutely must check it out if you are in the area. BTW.. here is a picture from their last gig in New York City back in March.

I know I've mentioned it before on this blog, but Matt Dixon and I have decided to put together a 20 year reunion of our band Vertigoround. By the end of next year, we're looking at a mammoth project to remaster a bunch of our old tapes, write and record some new stuff, and even play a few shows. Things are coming along well, and I am so excited to see our new songs materialize. Stay tuned!!!

So why not stay totally abreast of all our goings-ons, any time of day, with all the painstaking minutia that only tweets can bring. You can follow my Twitter account @bionicmilk and Rebeca's @pixeldonut.
